Fyvush Finkel is like a big, burly teddy bear you want to bring home with you. The eighty-eight-year-old Obie and Emmy winner, star of such television programs as PICKET FENCES and BOSTON PUBLIC and such Broadway productions as FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, will be celebrating his career in FYVUSH FINKEL LIVE!, running through November 7 at Baruch’s Rose Nagelberg Theatre in conjunction with the National Yiddish Theatre Folksbiene. Finkel, who will be joined by his sons Ian and Eliot and special guests Merwin Goldsmith and June Gable, will sing, dance, and tell jokes and stories in English and Yiddish, with English and Russian supertitles available. If you know who Finkel is, you also then know that this should be quite a treat; if you don’t know who he is, then it’s about time you found out about this true Yiddish legend.
