The Crossroads of the World will celebrate the fortieth anniversary of Earth Day with a special program featuring politicians, business leaders, activists, and entertainers taking the stage at Broadway between West 45th & 46th Sts., beginning at 11:00 am. Booths along West 42nd & 43rd Sts., including Greenopolis, the Environmental Defense Fund, Keep America Beautiful, the Natural Resources Defense Council, Riverkeeper, and Save the Chimps, will be giving out environmentally friendly information from eight in the morning to four in the afternoon as everyone is asked to make the E sign, sticking out their three middle fingers in a sideways gesture.
