After a very satisfying move to Pier 94 last year, the Chocolate Show is back at the more crowded Metropolitan Pavilion, serving up cacao goodness from all over the world Friday through Sunday. Ticket prices are now up to $28 ($30 at the door), so you might want to bring a little plastic bag with you to bring home some of the scarcer and scarcer free samples that are offered. Keep a look-out for some of our favorites, including Domori, Knipschildt Chocolatier (mmm, sea salt), Chocolat Moderne, Mary’s of Japan (oh, those green-tea truffles), and Lillie Belle Farms’ Smokey Blue Cheese Truffle, which we named best in show last year.

The twelfth annual show also includes demonstrations, lectures, book signings, and more, featuring such chocolatiers as Jeff Shepherd from Lillie Belle, the irrepressible Martin Howard, François Payard, Francine Segan from Savory Chocolate, Jacques Torres, Johnny Iuzzini from Jean Georges, and the great Andrew Shotts from Garrison Confections. There’s also a beauty pavilion where you can try cosmetic products and beauty treatments that involve chocolate as well as a KidZone with children’s activities and excerpts from American Lyric Theater’s new opera, THE GOLDEN TICKET, based on Roald Dahl’s beloved classic CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY.
