The 1914 Lehigh Valley Barge No. 79, which houses Red Hook’s Waterfront Museum, and the 1907 Tugboat Pegasus will be docked at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park for a series of family-friendly free events this weekend. On Saturday and Sunday, the barge will be open to visitors between 1:00 and 5:00, while tugboat tours will take place Saturday and Sunday at 1:00 and 3:00. Monday will feature dockside tug and barge visits from 1:00 to 5:00, followed on Tuesday night by a community fundraiser at 5:00 ($35). The tug and museum, which “showcase the great potential of the water highway for public access and enjoyment, education, transport, and commerce today,” will then head north to Cold Spring and Waterford for events in September.
