The old church on Sixth and 20th once known as Limelight, an infamous club where the beautiful people partied, danced, and generally depraved themselves, has been recently refitted as the handsomely upscale Limelight Marketplace. Now some of the beautiful people are back, perhaps remedying the effects of their past with the fresh organic skincare of Om Aroma & Co. Om Aroma, founded two years ago by former concert pianist and teen beauty contestant Angela Jia Kim after she had a bad experience with a supposedly natural skin cream, offers an innovative anti-aging organic skincare line. Om Aroma’s one-minute anti-aging program features fresh organic ingredients, including Champagne grape seeds carefully rounded for gentle exfoliation, white truffle for luminosity, red raspberry antioxidants, and caviar for the eyes. On Sundays in July (7/11, 7/18, and 7/25), Om Aroma is offering free mini-facials as part of its Spa Wellness program, in addition to ten-minute massages with any $20 purchase, from 1:00 to 6:00, on a first-come, first-served basis. The lovely Kim and expert facialist Dennis Stan Vega, the company’s business manager, will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate the line as well. And on Tuesday, July 20, Kim will be hosting a baby massage class at 11:00 am, with advance reservations a must.
